Staff members of Simpson Funeral Home located in Webb City and Carl Junction, Missouri are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. Hal C. Simpson has been working in the family business for four decades. He has faithfully and whole-heartedly put his time and energy into the business, while respectfully serving the families of our community with honesty, dignity, integrity, and trust. Hal began his work in the funeral home as a young boy cutting the lawn, washing cars and changing light bulbs while working for his father, Jack C. Simpson. In 1974, Hal graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. As a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, he resumed more of the responsibilities of the business. Hal has been very active in the Webb City community. He went to Boy's State his junior year in high school sponsored by the Webb City American Legion. He served as Past-President of the Webb City Chamber of Commerce, Past-President of the Lion's Club and Past-President of the Boys and Girls Youth Baseball Association. Hal enjoys the great outdoors. He likes to hunt, fish, and golf. Hal also received his education for eye enuculation, along with a life insurance license for the State of Missouri.

 

Hal has two boys, Austin and Adam, and has two daughters, Stacey Meador and Sarah Simpson. Stacey enjoyed playing softball in high school. She has a daughter, Caitlyn, and a son, Connor. Sarah enjoyed playing softball in high school, also. She has a son, Drayden. Both girls have spent many hours outside with their father practicing softball.

After the death of Hal's father, Stefanie joined the staff when they purchased the funeral home from Hal's mother, Barbara Simpson. Having successfully completing her apprenticeship under Hal and obtaining her Funeral Director's License, Stefanie enjoys working side by side her husband in the family business.

 

Stefanie was an honor graduate in high school. She was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, French Club, "W" Club, S.A.D.D., Basketball, Choir and was in the school play. She was also very active in her youth group at First Baptist Church, earning a Christian Development Diploma for the completion of Christian Education Study Courses. Stefanie graduated from MSSU and was a member of the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and made the Dean's List several times. She received her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. Stefanie taught third grade for three years before joining Hal at the funeral home. Outside of the funeral home, Stefanie enjoys photography and scrap booking.

 

Hal and Stefanie enjoy spending time with their children. Austin, 18, enjoys playing the piano and saxophone, as well as spending time outdoors. Adam, 14, enjoys football and swimming, as well as playing the drums.

I was born in West Union, Ohio, and graduated from Manchester High School in 1989. I then moved to Houston, Texas in 1993 and enrolled in Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in 1995 and graduated in August of 1996 with an Associated Degree in Funeral Service. I then worked in Houston, and Conroe, Texas for the next few years before moving to Missouri in 1999. I joined Simpson Funeral Home in 2004 and worked there until 2007. I returned to Simpsons in August of 2011. I married my wife Russchelle in 2005 and we have a wonderful family that includes Ashley 23, Trevor 15, Kolby 14, and Brianna 13. We reside in Oronogo, Missouri.

Austin Simpson Apprentice Funeral Director

Austin Simpson, son of Hal & Stefanie, is a Preneed Counselor and Apprentice Funeral Director.

Austin is a recipient of the 2016 Golden Lion Award and part of the 2016 Tomorrow's Leaders Today sponsored by the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, and board member of the Webb City Chamber of Commerce. He is continuing the family's history of serving others in their time of need. He enjoys flying airplanes, baseball, and spending time with his family and friends. Austin assists in the family business in any way that he can. In March of 2016, he obtained his Preneed Counselor license for Missouri, followed by his Apprentice Funeral Directors license in May. Austin is currently serving his apprenticeship for Funeral Director under our licensed professionals.

Adam Simpson, age 15 is the Firm Manager at Simpson Funeral Home. You can often find him helping in the office, supervising visitations, attending funeral ceremonies, and much more. He has been involved in the family business since he could walk, and enjoys learning more each day. 

Adam attends the Webb City High School and participates on the varsity football team.

Jim Devine Preneed Counselor

Jim Devine is a Pre-Need Counselor for Simpson Funeral Home. Jim is a retired teacher from the Webb City R-7 Schools where he was a band director at the High School, Junior High School and the Middle School. Jim came from Central Florida where he has a successful career as a high school band director and was the Florida representative for DeMoulin Brothers, a school band uniform manufacturer for over 10 years. Jim moved to McDonald County, Missouri in 1996.  Jim was a band director in McDonald County for 6 years prior to moving to Webb City where he retired from teaching in 2014. While living in Anderson, MO, Jim was active in the First Baptist Church of Anderson and was worship leader for 6 years prior to moving to Webb City.  Jims’ family includes his wife Bobbette and son Kyle and grandson Callan.   Jim and Bobbette have been married for 29 years and share their home with 2 standard Poodles and 2 miniature Schnauzers. Jim and Bobbette are members of First Baptist Church, Webb City.

Jim is proud to be associated with Simpson Funeral Home and looks to helping many families with their Pre-Need services.

Bradyn Wall Administrative Assistant

Bradyn is the office assistant at the Webb City branch of Simpson Funeral Home. A sophomore at Missouri Southern State University, Bradyn stays active in volleyball and academics.

 

Bradyn assists with office duties, as well as assisting during the services we perform.

Randy Nace
