Obituary for Dorothy Louise King

Dorothy Louise King, age 89 of Joplin passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the St. Luke's Nursing Home in Carthage. She was born April, 16th, 1927 in Joplin, Missouri to Gordon L. Moon and Mildred L. James Moon.
Mrs. King worked for the Sarah Coventry Jewelry (12 years), Precious Moments Chapel (10 years), Formally First National Bank of Joplin, Merchants and Miners Bank of Webb City (10 years) and Contempo Fashions. Mrs. King was a member of the Christ's Church of Perseverance in Joplin, a member of the Beta Sigma Phi and a member of Cultural Sorority. She was a hardcore avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include a son, William King, Jr. of the home; nephews, Keith and Debbie House of Collinsville, OK and Ed and Paula House of Bartlesville, OK. , nieces Merri and Tim Murphy of Santa Fe, NM, Steffi and Geoff Cowan of Ponca City, OK, Marcelle Moon of Irving, TX and Lisa Adams of Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William H. King, Sr. in 1999, a sister, Delores L. Angel in 2007, a brother, Jim G. Moon in 1998, a daughter in law, Linda J. King in 2003 and a nephew, James D. House in 2009.
There will be a visitation Tuesday 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Christ's Church of Perseverance on HH Hwy in Joplin.
Graveside service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at the Webb City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
Contributions can be made to Christ's Church of Perseverance Building Fund or Avalon Hospice of Joplin.
